The Knightsbridge RJ45 network outlet provides a single CAT5e Ethernet port behind a polished brass screwless faceplate, designed for wired network installations in residential and commercial settings. The outlet uses IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) terminals that accept bare CAT5e or CAT6 cable without needing to strip individual conductor insulation, and the IDC termination tool is included in the pack.

Designed for rooms where Wi-Fi coverage is poor or where stable wired connectivity is preferred — home offices, media rooms, gaming setups, smart TV positions — the outlet mounts flush to the wall on a 35mm minimum back box. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings once installed. The built-in gasket around the plate edge creates a dust seal between the faceplate and the wall surface.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The single RJ45 port carries integral shutters that close when no cable is plugged in, preventing dust ingress and concealing the internal mechanism. The plate includes a write-on designation label on the reverse side of the cover, allowing installers to mark the cable run destination during commissioning. What cable type does this accept?

The outlet accepts standard UTP CAT5e or CAT6 cable. The IDC terminals grip bare conductors without needing individual wire stripping. The termination tool is included in the pack.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The polished brass cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the outlet and re-clipped without disturbing the cable termination.

What back box depth is required?

A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 4.3mm projection of the cover plate is measured from the wall surface once the plate is clipped onto the sub-frame.

What do the shutters do?

The RJ45 port has integral shutters that close when no Ethernet cable is plugged in. This prevents dust entering the socket and conceals the internal contacts when the outlet is not in use.
