Description

The Mercury Heavy Duty is a 2-core transparent speaker cable with a 1.17mm² cross-sectional area, supplied on a 100m reel. Each core combines 21 strands of 0.10mm copper with 20 strands of 0.12mm copper-clad aluminium (CCA) in a hybrid conductor structure, rated for a maximum continuous current of 10A. A red polarity indicator runs through one conductor to maintain phase consistency across long runs.

Designed for medium-power distributed audio installations in commercial, hospitality and residential settings, the cable suits ceiling speaker systems, background music zones and multi-room audio where runs exceed 20-30m. The transparent PVC sheath allows visual inspection of terminations and conductor integrity without needing to strip the cable back, which can save troubleshooting time on installed runs.

Why is the sheath transparent?

The clear PVC sheath allows you to visually inspect terminations and conductor condition without stripping the cable. This helps when troubleshooting installed runs or verifying polarity continuity through junction boxes.

Can this cable be used outdoors?

No. The PVC sheath is rated for indoor use only. For outdoor speaker installations, use a UV-resistant outdoor-rated speaker cable with appropriate weatherproofing at terminations.
