The Mercury Economy Figure 8 Speaker Cable is a 100m reel of twin-core CCA (copper clad aluminium) speaker cable in a white sheath with a black polarity line running along one conductor. Each core contains 7 strands of 0.2mm diameter wire, giving a 0.22mm² cross-sectional area rated for up to 1.0A maximum current. The figure 8 profile measures 1.8 x 3.6mm overall, making it the thinnest speaker cable AVSL produce.

Designed for background music systems, small ceiling speakers, desktop monitors and intercoms where power draw is under 1 amp and cable runs are short, the Mercury cable suits discreet installations where a slim profile matters more than high current capacity. The figure 8 jacket allows the two conductors to be separated by hand for termination without needing a blade, and the black polarity marking keeps positive and negative consistent across multiple speakers.

CCA conductors provide lower conductivity than pure copper but at approximately 60% of the cost, making this cable suitable for budget-conscious installations where audio quality requirements are moderate.
