Description

The Mercury is a 2 core speaker cable with a 1.85mm² cross-sectional area per conductor, supplied on a 100m reel. Each core comprises 7 bundles of mixed copper and copper-clad aluminium strands (15 x 0.10mm copper + 13 x 0.12mm CCA per bundle), enclosed in a transparent PVC sheath. One core is marked with a red polarity indicator running the length of the cable to simplify phase-correct wiring during installation.

Designed for permanent audio installations in commercial venues, home theatre systems, multi-room audio distribution and PA setups, the cable handles continuous loads up to 15A maximum per core. The 1.85mm² cross-section supports speaker runs up to 20-30m for 8-ohm passive speakers without significant signal loss, making it suitable for distributed audio zones in larger properties or small to medium commercial installs. The transparent sheath allows visual inspection of conductor integrity without stripping back the cable.

The combination of pure copper and copper-clad aluminium stranding balances conductivity with flexibility and weight. Pure copper strands provide the primary signal path, while the CCA strands contribute mechanical strength and reduce the overall weight of a 100m reel compared to solid copper alternatives.
