Description

This card holds three JCB 9V alkaline cells, the rectangular block with two snap studs on top that clips onto a press-fit connector rather than sitting in a sprung compartment. The cells are coded 6LR61 on the body, and the card also prints MN1604, so if an equipment manual quotes either code you have the right cell in front of you. The same size is widely listed as PP3. The pack is printed Super Alkaline and Built to Last, and claims up to seven times more power, with an asterisk the front of the card does not explain.

Nine volt is the size most battery-only smoke and heat alarms take, along with carbon monoxide alarms, and it is the cell behind multimeters, guitar effects pedals, radio microphone packs, electronic drum modules and many intruder alarm bell boxes. If the alarm takes a rectangular nine volt block that snaps onto a two stud connector, yes. Take the old cell out first and check it reads 9V, 6LR61 or PP3 before ordering.

Is 6LR61 the same as PP3 or MN1604?

They are all names for the same nine volt block. The cells here are marked 6LR61 and the card prints MN1604, so either reference in your manual points to this size.

Can I recharge these cells?

No. Alkaline is a single use chemistry, so fit them, run them down and replace them. Putting them in a nine volt charger is not something we would ever advise.
