Description

These Knightsbridge M20 cable glands provide IP66-rated cable entry for outdoor electrical enclosures, junction boxes and security camera housings fitted with 20mm knockouts. Each gland is constructed from black nylon with a threaded body, compression seal and locking nut, holding cables between 6mm and 12mm diameter securely while maintaining the IP66 ingress protection rating against dust and powerful water jets.

Designed for outdoor CCTV installations, garden lighting circuits, gate automation and any outdoor electrical installation where cable entry needs to remain weatherproof, the glands thread into standard M20 knockouts found on most IP-rated enclosures and junction boxes. The compression seal grips the cable jacket without crushing the conductors, and the locknut tightens against the enclosure wall to prevent the gland from rotating or backing out under cable tension.

The nylon construction resists UV degradation and remains stable across the temperature range typical of UK outdoor installations. Each gland measures 37mm in total length from the base of the thread to the top of the cable entry dome, with a 25mm hexagonal locknut that can be tightened with a standard adjustable spanner. The pack contains 10 glands, sufficient for a typical 4-camera CCTV installation with spare capacity.

Frequently Asked

What cable diameters do these glands accept?

The M20 glands grip cables between 6mm and 12mm outer diameter. The compression seal adjusts to the cable size when the top nut is tightened, maintaining the IP66 seal across this range.

What is an M20 knockout and where is it found?

M20 refers to the 20mm metric thread size. Most outdoor electrical enclosures, junction boxes and camera housings have pre-formed 20mm circular knockouts that can be punched out to accept M20 cable glands.

Can these be used indoors?

Yes. The IP66 rating means they're suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Indoors they're commonly used in damp locations such as plant rooms, garages and commercial kitchens where IP-rated enclosures are required.

How is the IP66 seal achieved?

The gland body threads into the enclosure knockout with a rubber seal against the enclosure wall, locked by the hexagonal nut. The top compression seal grips the cable jacket when tightened, creating a dual-barrier seal that meets IP66 requirements for dust and water ingress.
