Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, giving a smooth run of light with none of the spotting you get from spaced diodes. It draws 8W per metre and puts out 680 lumens per metre in a fixed warm white 3000K, with a high CRI of Ra90 for accurate colour. Often called LED tape or light strip, it runs from a 12V DC LED driver (sold separately), and it cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5 cm so a run can be trimmed to fit.
Use it for under-cabinet and worktop lighting in kitchens, for cove and shelf runs, and for outlining stairs, mirrors or display niches. The IP65 rating means it also handles damp and sheltered outdoor settings, so it suits a covered patio edge, a porch soffit or a bathroom cove. As an accent and outline fitting rather than ambient room lighting, its job is to wash a surface or pick out a line, so plan it by the metre you want lit rather than by floor area, joining lengths off the reel to reach around corners and along worktops.
The coated IP65 construction seals the diodes against moisture and dust while keeping the reel flexible enough to bend along an edge. It carries a self-adhesive backing for direct mounting, runs on 12V DC and so must be paired with a matching LED driver rather than wired to the mains, and is rated for 30,000 hours. The warm white tone is fixed at 3000K. We also stock the matching drivers and connectors in the range to complete an installation.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a separate driver?
Yes. This is a 12V DC strip, so it cannot be wired straight to the mains. You need a matching 12V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the run, which is sold separately.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It cuts only at the marked points, which fall every 2.5 cm along the reel. Trim at a marked line and the remaining length still works once connected to the driver.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp use?
Yes. The IP65 rating makes it weatherproof against dust and water jets, so it is fine for exposed outdoor runs and wet locations such as a covered patio, porch soffit or bathroom cove.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it dry before powering on. Avoid solvents and harsh cleaners, which can mark the coating over time.
