Description
This COB LED strip lays down a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible 5m reel, so there are no visible diodes or spotting across the run. Often sold as LED tape, it draws 8W per metre and gives 760 lumens per metre of crisp 6500K daylight, with a high Ra90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and colours looking true. The strip runs on a 12V DC supply and cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5cm, so the run can be tailored neatly to the space it lights.
Because it is coated to IP65, this strip handles damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as indoor ones. It suits under-cabinet and worktop lighting in kitchens, cove and ceiling perimeters, shelving, stairs and the underside of handrails, plus sheltered patio, soffit and garden-room edges where a clean, even wash is wanted. The dot-free output and bright daylight tone make it a strong choice where the strip is seen directly or grazes along a surface, marking edges and outlines rather than lighting a whole room.
The strip is built on a flexible reel that bends around corners and follows curved profiles, with cut points every 2.5cm for accurate sizing. Being a 12V DC product, it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the length used and supplied separately. Rated at 30,000 hours, it can be run as a single 5m length or trimmed and joined to fit. Our wider range includes drivers and profiles to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It is a 12V DC strip, so it does not run straight from the mains and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you use, allowing 8W for every metre of strip.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed to fit, but only at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5cm along its length. Cut at the marks so the diodes and circuit stay intact, and any unused section can be kept for another run.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes, within reason. It is coated to IP65, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for damp and sheltered outdoor positions such as soffits, patios and garden-room edges. It is happy indoors too, in kitchens, coves and along shelving.
What does the COB design give over a standard strip?
COB places the diodes in a continuous line, so the light reads as a smooth, dot-free band rather than a row of visible points. With 760 lumens per metre at 6500K daylight and Ra90 colour rendering, it gives a bright, even and true-coloured wash, which suits edges and surfaces seen directly.
