Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, giving an even line of light with no visible spotting along its length. It draws 8W per metre and delivers 800 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Known in the US as LED tape or tape light, it suits under-cabinet and cove runs where a clean, unbroken glow matters more than a single bright source.
This strip is for indoor use only. Its IP00 rating means it has no protection against moisture, so keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones and any damp or outdoor location. It works well under kitchen wall units, along shelving, inside display cabinets, behind a headboard or tucked into a cove or skirting recess for indirect accent light. Rather than lighting a whole room, it grazes a surface or outlines a feature, so plan it as a continuous run along the edge you want to pick out.
The strip can be cut to length every 2.5cm at the marked points, so a 5m reel can be trimmed to fit each run exactly. It runs on 12V DC and is not mains-direct, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately and should be sized to the total wattage of the length you install. Rated for 30,000 hours, it adheses to clean, dry surfaces. Our COB range also includes coated IP65 versions for sheltered locations if you need more protection.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing 8W for every metre used.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be cut every 2.5cm at the marked cut points along the reel. This lets you trim the 5m reel to fit each run exactly, though it only cuts cleanly at those marked intervals.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This version is rated IP00, which gives no protection against moisture, so it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and outdoor locations. A coated IP65 version is available for sheltered spots.
Where is this strip best used?
It is well suited to under-cabinet lighting, cove and shelf runs, display cabinets and accent outlines indoors. The dot-free COB line gives an even glow without visible spotting, so it works best grazing a surface or picking out a feature rather than lighting a whole room.
