Description

The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes set on a flexible 5 metre reel, giving an even run of light with none of the visible spotting you get from older spaced-diode tape. It draws 8W per metre and puts out 720 lumens per metre in a warm white 3000K tone, so the lit line reads as one smooth band rather than a row of points. US buyers will know this format as COB LED tape light. The strip cuts to length at marked intervals every 2.5 cm, letting you trim a run to fit a shelf, recess or cabinet edge exactly.

Because the light comes as a continuous, low-profile band, it suits under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, cove and coffer detailing, shelf edges, display cases and the underside of a worktop or stair nosing. It is rated IP00, so keep it to dry indoor positions and clear of any damp or splash. Rather than lighting a whole room, it works as accent and task light along a line, washing a surface or picking out an architectural edge, so judge it by the length of run you want to light rather than by floor area. The warm 3000K output and Ra 90 colour rendering keep wood, paint and food tones looking natural under the beam.

The strip runs on 12V DC and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately, so it does not connect straight to a mains socket. Sizing the driver to the total wattage of your cut length matters; an over-long run on an undersized driver will not light correctly. Does this strip need a driver?

Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver rather than a direct mains connection. The driver is sold separately, and you should size it to the total wattage of your cut length.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. It can be cut at the marked points every 2.5 cm, so you can trim a run to fit a shelf, recess or cabinet exactly. Only cut at the marked intervals, never between them.

Is it suitable for outdoor or bathroom use?

No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of damp, splashes and any wet or sheltered-outdoor location.

How do I clean the strip?

Wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth once the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and do not let water sit on the reel, as it carries no moisture rating.
