Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes set on a flexible reel, giving a smooth band of light with none of the spotting you see on older spaced-diode tape. It draws 3W per metre and puts out 276 lumens per metre of warm white (3000K) light, with a CRI of Ra80 for natural-looking colour. What American buyers call LED tape light works the same way here: a low-profile reel that bends around corners and tucks into channels. The strip runs from a 24V DC LED driver, which is specified separately to suit the total run length you need.
Supplied on a 5m reel, the strip cuts to length at marked points every 5cm, so it can be trimmed to fit a worktop, shelf edge, cove or outline exactly. With its IP65 rating it works in damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as dry interiors, making it a good fit for under-cabinet kitchen lighting, garden eaves, pergola edges and bathroom cove detailing. Rather than lighting a whole room, it grazes a surface or picks out a line, so plan it as accent and outline light rather than ambient ceiling light. Several lengths joined off one driver give an even, unbroken run.
The reel carries COB diodes on a flexible backing with a protective coating that earns the IP65 weatherproof rating, suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations. It free-cuts at the 5cm intervals and terminates in free cable ends for wiring to the driver. Rated for 30,000 hours, it runs on 24V DC and must be paired with a matching 24V LED driver, which is sold separately. This warm white version sits alongside other tones and IP options in the COB LED Strip range.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. This is a 24V DC strip, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver to run from the mains; it does not plug straight into a wall socket. The driver is sold separately and should be sized to the total length of strip you connect.
Where can the strip be cut?
The strip cuts to length at marked points every 5cm along the reel. Only cut at these marked intervals so the circuit stays intact, then wire the free cable ends back to your driver.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 rating means it is coated against moisture and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations, as well as damp interiors such as bathrooms. Use a suitably rated driver and connections to keep the whole installation weatherproof.
What is the difference between COB and standard SMD tape?
COB places diodes in a continuous line, so you see a smooth, dot-free band of light rather than individual points. That makes it a better choice where the strip is visible in coves, under cabinets or along outlines.
