Description
This COB LED strip lights a continuous, dot-free line of diodes along a flexible 5 metre reel, giving an even run of light with none of the spotting you see on older SMD tape. It draws 3W per metre and puts out 300 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with an Ra 80 colour rendering that keeps surfaces looking true. Known in the US as COB led strip or led tape light, it runs on 24V DC rather than direct mains, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver, supplied separately.
Use it for cove and ceiling perimeter detail, under-cabinet task light in a kitchen, shelf and display edges, or outlining a stair or patio. Because it is rated IP65 it copes with damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as dry indoor runs, so the same reel suits a bathroom recess or a covered garden eave. The coverage is a linear wash rather than a room flood, so think of it as an accent and outline light: a single 5 metre length traces the full perimeter of a typical kitchen island or a long shelf run, and the cool tone reads well for work surfaces and signage edges.
The strip is built on a flexible carrier with an IP65 weatherproof coating and free cable ends ready to wire to a 24V DC driver. It cuts to length only at the marked points every 5cm, so you can size each run to the space without waste. It is not a mains-direct product and must not be wired straight to a wall socket; a correctly rated 24V driver is required. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it weighs 80g per reel. Our wider COB strip range includes matching drivers and connectors to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, not mains voltage, so it must be powered through a matching 24V LED driver. The driver is sold separately, and you should size it to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing a little headroom.
Can it be cut to length, and where?
Yes. The strip cuts to length only at the marked cut points, which fall every 5cm along the reel. Cut at one of these points and leave the free cable ends ready to wire back to the driver.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes, within reason. The IP65 rating means it is coated against water and dust, so it suits damp and sheltered outdoor positions such as covered eaves, patios and bathroom recesses. It is fine for exposed weather but should not be submerged.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth when the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can damage the IP65 coating, and never soak or submerge the reel.
