Description
This COB LED strip puts out a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible reel, drawing 3W per metre and delivering 276 lumens per metre in a warm white 3000K tone. Often sold as LED tape light in the US, the COB build packs the diodes into an unbroken run so you see an even glow rather than the spotting of older spaced-diode tape. It runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, supplied separately, rather than connecting straight to the mains. The strip cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5cm, letting you size each run to the space.
Rated IP65, this strip is coated against moisture and copes with damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as dry indoor ones, which suits it to kitchen plinths, under-cabinet runs, cove and ceiling recesses, garden eaves and covered patio edges. The warm 3000K output gives a soft, low-glare accent rather than broad room lighting, so think of it as outline and task-edge illumination, grazing along a surface or picking out a recess instead of lighting a whole room. Plan each length around the 2.5cm cut interval and keep within the driver's rated load when joining sections.
The diodes sit on a slim flexible reel with free cable ends for wiring into a 12V DC supply, and at Ra80 the colour rendering keeps surfaces looking natural. Rated for 30,000 hours, the strip weighs around 80g and stays low-profile enough to tuck into channels and recesses. The IP65 coating means it can be wiped clean and used where the odd splash is likely. This strip sits within our wider COB LED Strip range, with matching drivers and connectors available to complete an install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it must be powered through a matching 12V LED driver rather than wired straight to the mains. The driver is supplied separately, and you should size it to cover the total wattage of the run you fit at 3W per metre.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be cut to size at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5cm along the reel. Only cut at those marks, and use the free cable ends to wire the cut length back into the 12V supply.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp use?
Yes. The IP65 rating means it is coated against moisture and will handle damp and sheltered outdoor spots such as covered patios, garden eaves and kitchen splash zones. It copes with the odd splash, though full submersion is not intended.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the strip with a soft, slightly damp cloth once it is switched off and cool. The IP65 coating lets you remove dust and light splashes without water getting into the diodes. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners that could mark the coating.
