Description
This COB LED strip lays down a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible reel, with no visible diodes to break the run. It draws 3W per metre and gives around 300 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a colour rendering of Ra 80 for clean, accurate tones. Sold as a 5m reel, it cuts to length every 2.5cm at the marked points, so a run can be sized exactly to the space. As an led strip light, this is the COB format US buyers know as led tape light, where the close-packed diodes remove the spotty look of older SMD reels.
Because it carries an IP65 rating, this strip is coated for damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as indoor work: under-cabinet lines in a kitchen, cove and shelf detailing, stair and skirting runs, or sheltered patio and pergola edges. The continuous emission suits applications where the line of light itself is on show, so any spotting would be obvious. Coverage is best judged as a length of edge or outline rather than a floor area, since this is accent and task linework rather than ambient room lighting. Plan the metres to the edge being lit and join or trim at the cut points to fit corners and returns.
The strip runs on 12V DC, so it is not a mains-direct fitting and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately and sized to the total wattage of the run. The reel terminates in free cable ends for wiring back to that driver. The IP65 coating handles splashes and damp without the strip itself needing a separate enclosure, and each metre weighs only 80g, keeping mounting simple on the self-backed reel. Rated at 30,000 hours, it is built for long unattended runs. The wider range also includes IP20 indoor versions and matching drivers.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it cannot connect straight to the mains and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 3W for every metre fitted.
Can it be cut to length?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed every 2.5cm at the marked cut points, so you can size each section to the edge or surface being lit. Cut only at the marked intervals to keep the circuit intact.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp areas?
Yes. The IP65 rating means the strip is coated against splashes and damp, so it works in sheltered outdoor spots and wet indoor zones such as under cabinets near a sink. It still needs its 12V driver kept in a suitable dry or enclosed position.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it dry before powering back on. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasives, which can mark the protective coating. The sealed face means dust and light grease lift off easily.
