Description

This is the 2.6m triple-headed lamp post from the Traditional range, the Victorian park lantern Harte are known for: a tapered four-sided head with a stepped crown, corner tips and a cast finial. It stands 2.6m tall and measures 875mm across.

It belongs on a wide entrance, a turning circle or a courtyard that needs light in every direction. It weighs 52.20KG, so it is a two-person lift and a real foundation job rather than a bolt into a paving slab. Harte rate it IP44, which covers splashing from any direction, so a covered or partly sheltered position is right; for a fully exposed position look at the IP65 fittings in the range. The same pattern runs from 2.6m to 3.5m, so you can match a pair across two positions without changing the look.

Glazing is hand-cut glass and the lamp is an E27 screw fitting supplied without a bulb, so you choose the output and the colour rather than accepting a sealed unit. The maximum is 300W in total across three lamps; a 7W LED at 2700K is the usual choice. It is made in cast iron and galvanised steel. Harte cast, spray and glaze each light to order in County Wexford, so allow two to five weeks, and any RAL colour can go on in place of gloss black if you say so when ordering. An LED panel option is available in place of the lamp holder. Wiring an outdoor fitting needs a qualified electrician.
