Description

The Streton is a 60W pole-mounted LED street light built for roads, car parks and amenity areas. It draws 60W to produce 8400 lumens at an efficiency of 140 lm/W, with a neutral 4000K output that keeps surfaces, kerbs and markings clearly read after dark. In US terms this is the kind of fixture specified as a parking lot or area light, the shoebox-style luminaire mounted on a column to cover an open space. The asymmetric 140° x 90° beam pushes light forward along the carriageway or bay rather than straight down, giving a long, even spread between columns.

This luminaire suits public and commercial outdoor settings: street runs, access roads, car parks, loading yards and amenity zones around a site. Its forward-throwing beam is shaped for spacing along a route, so columns can be set further apart while still keeping the throw between them even and free of dark gaps. Coverage favours road and bay width over a tight pool of light, which makes it well suited to longer rows of poles rather than a single isolated point. Mount it at standard column or post-top height for the road class being lit, then space the poles to suit the spread the beam gives at that height.

Built from aluminium alloy in a grey finish, the Streton carries an IP66 rating for fully exposed outdoor and wet locations, plus an IK08 impact rating for public sites. It fixes to a street pole or column rather than a building face, mounting at the pole top or on a spigot to suit the installation. The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours and the fitting is non-dimmable, running on 220 to 240V AC. At 1.94 kg it stays manageable on the column. Other wattages in the Streton range cover lower and higher output needs across the same pole-mounted format.

Frequently Asked

How does the Streton mount onto a pole or column?

It fixes to a street pole or column, either at the pole top or on a spigot, rather than to a wall or building. Mount it at the column height suited to the road or car park being lit. This keeps the beam at the right level for even coverage along the route.

How should poles be spaced for even coverage?

The asymmetric 140° x 90° beam throws light forward along the road or bay rather than directly downward, so columns can be set apart while keeping the spread even between them. Spacing depends on mounting height and the road class. Aim for an overlap that avoids dark gaps between poles.

Is the Streton suitable for fully exposed outdoor use?

Yes. Its IP66 rating means it is weatherproof and rated for exposed outdoor and wet locations, including direct rain on an open street or car park. An IK08 impact rating adds resilience for public sites.

What older lamp type does this replace on a road or car park?

At 8400 lumens from 60W, the Streton is suited to amenity roads, access routes and car parks, replacing older SON or metal-halide lanterns of similar output. Its 140 lm/W efficiency and 50,000-hour life cut running and maintenance costs against those discharge sources.
