Description
The Streton is a 150W LED street light built for roads, car parks and large outdoor amenity areas. It mounts to a pole, column or post by a spigot, casting a wide asymmetric beam of 140° by 90° so light is thrown forward along a carriageway or across a parking bay rather than straight down. With 19,500 lumens at 4000K neutral white and an efficiency of 130 lm/W, it gives bright, clear illumination that reads naturally for drivers and pedestrians. In US terms this is the area light or shoebox-style street luminaire used on parking lot poles.
Pole and column heights of roughly five to eight metres suit this output, with the wide spread allowing fittings to be spaced along a road or around a car park while keeping coverage even between columns. The forward throw of the 140° axis is what carries light down the run, so it works well for through-roads, access roads, distribution yards and commercial car parks. Because it is an outdoor area luminaire rather than ambient room lighting, judge it on throw and spacing rather than a fixed floor area, aiming for overlapping pools of light with no dark gaps between poles.
The body is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, rated IP66 against dust and driven rain and IK08 for impact, so it holds up to fully exposed outdoor and wet conditions year round. It runs on 220 to 240V AC mains and carries a rated lifespan of 50,000 hours. The colour temperature is fixed at 4000K and the fitting is not dimmable. At 2.88 kg it is light enough for straightforward spigot mounting on a standard street pole or car park column.

Frequently Asked
How is this street light mounted?
It is designed for pole, column or post mounting via a spigot, suiting street poles and car park columns at roughly five to eight metres. It is an outdoor area luminaire fixed to a pole, not a building.
Will it cope with exposed outdoor and wet conditions?
Yes. The Streton is rated IP66, which protects it against dust and powerful jets of water, so it is suitable for fully exposed roads, car parks and yards. The IK08 rating also gives it solid resistance to impact.
How should fittings be spaced for even coverage?
The wide 140° by 90° asymmetric beam throws light forward along the run, so columns can be spaced apart while keeping pools of light overlapping. Aim for continuous coverage with no dark gaps between poles, adjusting spacing to your mounting height and road or car park width.
What does a 150W LED street light like this replace?
At 19,500 lumens it is bright enough to take over from older SON or metal-halide street and area lamps of significantly higher wattage, while drawing far less power at 130 lm/W. The 50,000 hour rated lifespan also reduces how often poles need maintenance access.
