Description

The Sottile is a two-drop vertical pendant light built around a rectangular brushed gold ceiling plate from which two contrasting elements hang on slim cables. The first drop is a slender brushed gold rod fitted with a frosted glass globe; the second is an illuminated white acrylic tube interrupted by a solid brushed gold sphere. Both drops use integrated LEDs running at 3000K and a combined 15-30W, with a maximum length of 90cm.

The asymmetric pairing suits stairwells, double-height entrance halls, side-of-bed positions and narrow consoles where a linear arrangement of drops works better than a single wide pendant. Each drop hangs from its own cable on the shared canopy, so the heights can be set independently during installation to follow a stairwell pitch or balance a vaulted ceiling. The 90cm drop length gives the fitting visual presence without reaching into walking space.

The brushed gold finish on the canopy, rod, sphere and end caps is consistent across both drops, tying the two contrasting forms into one fitting. The frosted globe diffuses light in a soft circular glow, while the illuminated acrylic tube reads as a vertical line of light running through the gold sphere. At 1cm diameter on the slim element, the rods stay graphic rather than heavy, which keeps the fitting suited to modern and minimalist interiors rather than traditional rooms.

Can the two drops hang at different heights?

Yes. Each drop hangs from its own cable on the shared rectangular canopy, so the cable lengths can be adjusted independently during installation. This suits stairwells and vaulted ceilings where the two drops need to sit at different levels.

Where does it work best?

The vertical, asymmetric format suits stairwells, double-height entrance halls, either side of a bed, or above a narrow console. The 90cm drop gives strong vertical presence, so it's best in rooms with a ceiling height of 2.7m or above, or in stairwells where the drop can extend safely past the upper landing.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming compatibility depends on the specific dimmer module used with integrated LED fittings. Please contact us before pairing the Sottile with a dimmer so we can confirm suitability for your installation.
