Description

This is the smaller of the two pillar lights in the Goose Neck range, the old farmyard curve, carrying a spun teardrop shade over a clear glass dome. It stands 584mm tall and measures 290mm across. It is made for a narrow pier cap.

It sits on the pier cap itself, not on a wall, so the light starts at the gate rather than beside it. It weighs 4.50KG, so the pier cap needs to be sound and the base plate bolted through it. Harte rate it IP44, which covers splashing from any direction, so a covered or partly sheltered position is right; for a fully exposed position look at the IP65 fittings in the range. The same pattern runs from 584mm to 910mm, so you can match a pair across two positions without changing the look.

Glazing is polycarbonate and the lamp is an E27 screw fitting supplied without a bulb, so you choose the output and the colour rather than accepting a sealed unit. The maximum is 100W in total across one lamp; a 7W LED at 2700K is the usual choice. It is made in cast iron and galvanised steel. Harte cast, spray and glaze each light to order in County Wexford, so allow two to five weeks, and any RAL colour can go on in place of gloss black if you say so when ordering. An LED panel option is available in place of the lamp holder. Wiring an outdoor fitting needs a qualified electrician.
