Description

The RAIBO is a task desk lamp built around an adjustable arm and head, so the light can be aimed straight onto the work in front of you. It takes a standard E27 bulb and runs at a maximum of 5W from a 220-240V AC mains supply, sitting on its own weighted base rather than clamping to the desk edge. In the US this style is usually called a desk lamp or reading lamp, and the principle is the same wherever you are: a directional pool of light over the immediate working area instead of broad coverage across the room.

Because the head and arm tilt and turn, the RAIBO suits a home office, a study corner, a bedside reading spot or a hobby bench where light needs to fall on a specific point. The throw is short and concentrated, lighting the page, keyboard or task surface directly under the head rather than washing the whole room, so it works best alongside your general ceiling light rather than replacing it. Position it to one side of your working hand to keep shadows off the page, and adjust the arm so the bulb sits clear of your direct eyeline to cut glare while you read or write.

The lamp is made from metal in a yellow finish, giving it a solid, weighted feel on the desk. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept away from bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor spot. The RAIBO is a free-standing desk lamp that rests on its own weighted base, so it does not need to clamp to a desk edge. Its base keeps it stable while the arm and head are adjusted. This makes it easy to move between a desk, a bench or a bedside table as needed.

What bulb does it take and is it dimmable?

It uses a standard E27 screw-fit bulb, rated to a maximum of 5W, which is supplied separately. Because the bulb is your choice, dimmable behaviour depends on the bulb you fit and any dimmer in the circuit. Choosing a warm white bulb gives a comfortable tone for reading and close work.

Can I use this lamp outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. The RAIBO is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, damp rooms and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location.
