Description

The Nur Blanco XL is a 1840mm floor lamp built around a continuous spiral form in matt white metal and frosted polycarbonate. An integrated 22W LED runs the length of the spiral, producing 1800 lumens of 4000K cool white light that diffuses through the frosted material as the light source twists from floor to ceiling height. An inline floor dimmer on the cable allows output adjustment from full brightness down to a low ambient level.

Designed as a statement piece for open-plan living rooms, offices and gallery-style interiors where ceiling heights exceed 2.2m, the Nur Blanco sits on a circular base approximately 450mm in diameter. The spiral form gives the lamp sculptural presence without blocking sightlines across a room, and the cool white 4000K output suits workspaces, reading positions and areas where colour accuracy matters more than warmth. At 2.2kg the lamp is light enough to reposition but stable on carpet or hard floors.

The frosted polycarbonate diffuses the LED evenly along the spiral, preventing hotspots and visible diode points. The matt white finish on the metal structure absorbs rather than reflects ambient light from windows or other fittings, keeping the lamp's appearance consistent under different lighting conditions. The inline dimmer sits on the cable approximately 300mm from the base, giving control without requiring wall switches or smart home integration.

The spiral design originated with Mantra's Spanish design team and has been in continuous production since 2015, with this XL variant introduced to suit higher ceilings in loft conversions and new-build properties with 2.7-3m ceiling heights. The cool white colour temperature pairs with north-facing rooms and minimalist interiors where warmer tones would feel out of place.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the structure and not user-replaceable. The integrated LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which equates to around 11 years at 6 hours per day. Mantra covers the LED under the 3-year warranty.

What ceiling height is needed?

At 1840mm tall, the Nur Blanco XL suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or higher. In standard 2.4m UK ceiling height rooms, the top of the spiral sits approximately 560mm below the ceiling. Lower ceilings may make the lamp feel visually cramped.

How does the dimmer work?

The inline floor dimmer is a rotary control on the mains cable, positioned approximately 300mm from the base. Turn clockwise to increase brightness, anticlockwise to reduce. No additional dimmer switches or smart controls are required.

Is 4000K suitable for living rooms?

4000K is a neutral to cool white tone, producing light closer to daylight than to incandescent warmth. It suits task lighting, offices, and contemporary minimalist interiors. For warmer, more traditional living room settings, consider Mantra's 3000K warm white variants of the Nur range if available.
