Description

The Next is a 10m braided fabric cable with a 10mm diameter, covered in a white textile braid over the inner copper cores. The fabric covering gives a textile finish to visible cable runs on pendant lights, wall lights and decorative installations where standard PVC flex would look industrial.

Designed for pendant light installations where the cable is visible between ceiling rose and fitting, the braided finish turns the cable itself into part of the fixture's design language. The 10m length allows custom drops for high ceilings, staircases and mezzanine installations, or can be cut to size for standard 2.4m ceiling heights with plenty of spare for wiring terminations. The white braid pairs cleanly with white ceilings, light-toned interiors and modern Scandinavian or minimalist schemes.

The braided textile covering sits over the cable's insulation, adding abrasion resistance and allowing the cable to bend smoothly around tight corners or through ceiling voids without kinking. The 10mm diameter accommodates two-core or three-core conductors depending on specification (see table below), making it suitable for both standard pendant wiring and earthed metal fixtures. The fabric is tightly woven to prevent fraying at cut ends during installation.

Can the cable be cut to a shorter length?

Yes. The 10m length can be cut to any required size during installation. The fabric braid may fray slightly at the cut end, so leave a small margin beyond the termination point and secure with heatshrink or cable gland if needed.

Is this cable suitable for outdoor use?

No. Braided fabric cable is designed for indoor decorative use only. For outdoor pendant installations use rubber or PVC-sheathed flex with an appropriate IP rating.

What voltage rating does it carry?

Fabric-covered flex for lighting installations is typically rated at 230V for UK mains. Confirm the specific rating and certification marking with us if you're installing in a commercial or public building requiring certified compliance documentation.
