Description
This LED rope light is a round, flexible encased tube that carries a continuous line of warm white light along its full 5 metre length. Drawing 10W in total and giving 550 lumens, it runs at 3000K for a soft, low-key glow rather than bright task light. Sold in the US as LED rope light or rope tube light, it is the encased, weatherproof cousin of bare LED tape: a sealed 13 mm diameter profile fed through its connection kit instead of being cut like an open strip. The even, dotted run of diodes makes it well suited to tracing a line rather than flooding an area.
Outdoors it works for marking the edge of a path, decking step or border, running under eaves and gutters, or outlining a pergola, fence or balustrade. Because the light is decorative and directional along its length rather than ambient room lighting, think of it in terms of the run it picks out rather than a coverage area: a single 5 metre length traces one continuous warm line, and lengths can be set out to follow the shape you want to highlight. The warm 3000K tone keeps the effect mellow against brickwork, timber and planting after dark, and the low 10W draw makes it practical to leave running through an evening.
The tube is rated IP65, so it is built for exposed outdoor and wet locations including rain-washed eaves and ground-level runs. It operates at 210V DC through its supplied controller and connection arrangement, so it is fed via that kit rather than wired straight to the mains as a bare strip would be. With a CRI of Ra 80, a rated 15,000 hour life and a sealed 13 mm profile weighing 794g across the 5 metre run, it is made for fit-and-leave decorative outlining. Matching connection accessories are available across the range.

Frequently Asked
Can it be used outdoors in the rain?
Yes. The rope light is rated IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and water jets and is suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations. It can run along eaves, fences and ground-level borders that get rained on. Keep any connections and the controller protected as advised in the instructions.
Does it run straight from a wall socket?
No. This rope light operates at 210V DC and is fed through its supplied controller and connection kit rather than wired directly to a mains socket like an ordinary lamp. Use the connection arrangement provided rather than improvising a mains feed. This keeps the run safe and correctly powered.
Can the rope light be cut to length?
It is a sealed, encased tube supplied as a 5 metre length, so it is not freely cut like a bare open strip. It is intended to be installed as supplied and joined using the matching connectors in the range where a layout needs extending. Plan your run around the 5 metre length rather than trimming mid-section.
How should the rope light be cleaned?
Wipe the sealed tube with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, leaf debris or grime, then dry it off. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive pads that could mark the 13 mm profile. Because it is IP65 sealed, light cleaning is straightforward, but switch it off and let it cool first.
