Description
The LED Neon Flex is a solid, diffused profile that gives a continuous neon-effect line of light rather than the dotted look of bare diodes. It draws 12 W per metre and puts out 240 lumens per metre in a crisp daylight tone, with a CRI of Ra80 for clean, true colour along the run. Sold in the US as led neon flex or neon rope, it bends around corners and curves to trace shapes, letters and edges, holding an even glow across every part of the profile.
Its flexibility makes it well suited to signage, lettering, cove detailing and façade outlines, where the light needs to follow a defined line or trace the edge of a building, sign or recess. Because it is not ambient room lighting, think of it in terms of the outline or feature it draws rather than a floor area it covers: the diffused profile reads as a clean band of light from a distance, ideal for marking architectural edges, shopfronts and garden structures. The 5 metre reel can be cut every 5 cm at the marked points to fit a specific length, so the run can be tailored to the shape it follows.
Built to IP65, the profile is weatherproof and rated for exposed outdoor and wet locations as well as sheltered ones. It runs on a 24V DC supply, so it is not a mains-direct fitting and needs a matching 24V LED driver, which must be specified separately to the load of the run. The encased neon-effect body diffuses the diodes evenly and is rated for around 30,000 hours. Our wider LED Strip range includes COB and SMD reels alongside this neon flex for cove and outline work.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a driver?
Yes. This is a 24V DC profile, not a mains-direct fitting, so it must be run from a matching 24V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 12 W for every metre of profile used.
Can it be cut to length, and where?
Yes. The profile can be cut every 5 cm at the marked cut points along its length. Only cut at these marks so the circuit stays complete, then connect the remaining length back to the driver.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, so it is weatherproof and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations as well as sheltered runs. This makes it a good fit for façade outlines, garden structures and external signage.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the diffused profile with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust and grime, with the supply switched off first. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the diffuser and reduce the evenness of the glow.
