Description
The LED Neon Flex is a solid, diffused neon-effect profile that gives a smooth, dotless line of light in cool white. It draws 12W per metre and returns around 320 lumens per metre, running from a 24V DC supply rather than straight off the mains. The continuous flexible body bends around corners and curves to follow a shape, which is what makes this an LED neon flex rather than an open strip of spaced diodes. In the US this form is often called led tape light or a light strip, though the encased neon profile is the closer match here.
Because it bends and holds a clean lit line, it suits signage lettering, cove runs, under-step and handrail details, and the outline of a façade, balcony or shopfront. The IP65 rating means it copes with exposed outdoor positions and wet locations, so it works equally for an indoor cove and a covered porch or garden edge. Rather than lighting a room to a lux level, think of it as a decorative outline: the cool white tone reads crisp and modern along an edge or letter shape, and the even diffusion hides any visible diodes. Plan the run length against the lengths you want to cover, since the reel can be shortened to suit.
The profile measures 5000mm long with a compact 4 × 10mm section and weighs 266g, and it can be cut to length every 5cm at the marked points. It carries a CRI of Ra 80 and a rated life of 30,000 hours. As a 24V DC product it needs a matching low-voltage LED driver, which is specified separately to suit the total load, so it does not plug directly into a wall socket. We stock other forms in this range, including warm-tone neon flex and matching mounting clips.

Frequently Asked
Can this neon flex be cut to length?
Yes. It can be shortened every 5cm at the marked cut points along the profile. Always cut only at those marks so the circuit and end seal stay intact.
Does it need a separate driver?
Yes. This is a 24V DC product, not a mains-direct fitting, so it must run from a matching low-voltage LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, which is 12W for every metre installed.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The IP65 rating means it is weatherproof and copes with exposed outdoor and wet locations, including covered façades, balconies and garden outlines. It is equally at home indoors for cove and signage work.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the diffused surface with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth once the supply is switched off. Avoid solvents or abrasive pads, which can dull the diffuser. The sealed IP65 body keeps moisture and dust out during normal use.
