Impossible Flared Pendant Light 105cm

The Impossible 105cm Flared Pendant Light is a large ceiling fitting built from one continuous woven painted metal mesh. Its shape gives it the name: the crown at the top is narrow and waisted, then flares outward into a wide skirt with the hem turned up at the rim, more like a flared hat than a flat lens. It measures 105cm in diameter, which is the width across the plan, and stands 48cm tall. The drop is 340cm at maximum and is fixed at manufacture, so it cannot be shortened on site. The shade itself is the frame, a single woven body rather than a cluster of separate parts.

This pendant light suits rooms with generous ceiling height, given the fixed 340cm drop, such as stairwells, double-height halls and open living or dining spaces. The wide 105cm skirt makes it a good fit above a large dining table or a central seating area where the woven mesh can be seen from below. It works equally in modern and more traditional interiors, and the four metal finishes give you room to match existing fixtures and joinery.

The fitting is made from metal with a painted mesh shade, offered in black, burnished, gold or white across eight variants. It comes in two forms: an integrated LED version giving 3 x 14W, dimmable, 2700K and 4200 lm, with no lamp to buy; or an E27 version taking 1 x E27 100W maximum, lamps not included, where colour temperature, output and dimming depend on the lamp you fit. What is the shade made from?

The shade is a woven painted metal mesh. There is no glass or separate diffuser; the woven metal frame is the shade itself, and it is finished in your chosen colour.

It has a diameter of 105cm across the plan and a height of 48cm. The drop is 340cm at maximum and is fixed at manufacture, so it cannot be shortened on site. Please make sure your ceiling height suits this fixed drop.

Do I need to buy a lamp?

That depends on the version. The integrated LED version needs no lamp to buy, as it has a built-in module of 3 x 14W. The E27 version takes 1 x E27 100W maximum, and lamps are not included with it.

Is the light dimmable and what colour temperature does it give?

The integrated LED version is dimmable, runs at 2700K and gives 4200 lm. On the E27 version, dimming, colour temperature and output are determined by the E27 lamp you fit, so these are down to your choice of lamp.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust the woven metal mesh gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners that could mark the painted finish. We cannot confirm the net weight, so if that matters for your fixing please ask us.
