Description
The Golden Rain is a 100x140cm framed canvas with a cascading gold foil and paint design applied to a black backdrop. The gold appears as hundreds of vertical strokes falling from the top edge, creating a graduated density from dense metallic texture at the top to sparse individual lines descending into the black lower half. The canvas is hand-finished, so the exact pattern and foil application vary between pieces.
Designed for portrait hanging only, the canvas suits entrance halls, stairwells, above sideboards in dining rooms, and feature walls in living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. Two integral hooks on the reverse allow the frame to sit flush against the wall. The black wood-effect frame gives a 40mm border around the canvas and adds 3.6kg weight, requiring secure wall fixings (not included).
The foil catches and reflects light at different angles throughout the day, so the gold intensity shifts depending on lamp positions and natural light direction. Against the black canvas the gold reads warm and tonal rather than brassy, pairing comfortably with brass hardware, dark wood furniture, and interiors using charcoal, navy or deep green as accent colours.

Frequently Asked
Can the canvas be hung landscape?
No. The design is intended for portrait orientation only, with the gold foil cascading downwards from the top edge. The integral hooks are positioned for portrait hanging.
What wall fixings are needed?
At 3.6kg, the framed canvas requires secure wall fixings appropriate to your wall type. Use two heavy-duty picture hooks on plasterboard with cavity anchors, or masonry screws and wall plugs on brick or block walls. Wall fixtures are not included.
Does the gold foil vary between pieces?
Yes. Each canvas is hand-finished, so the exact placement, density and texture of the gold foil strokes differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the production method, not a defect.
How is the canvas cleaned?
Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid touching the foiled canvas surface directly — oils from skin can mark the foil. If dust accumulates on the canvas, use a soft brush or compressed air rather than wiping.
