Description

The Funk Fat is a single pendant light with a sculptural metal shade in matt white, finished with a beaten gold interior. The shade combines a tapered conical top with a wider rounded base, measuring 300mm tall and 240mm in diameter. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the shade, with the bulb (sold separately) visible only from directly below where the gold interior catches the light.

The pendant suits kitchen islands, breakfast bars and dining tables in modern and contemporary interiors, hung singly over a smaller surface or in a row of two or three above longer islands and tables. With a 150cm adjustable cable, the drop can be set 700-800mm above a worktop or dining surface during installation. The compact 240mm diameter keeps the fitting in proportion above narrower islands and two-seater dining tables where larger shades would dominate.

The matt white exterior reads as a clean architectural shape against painted ceilings, while the hammered gold interior warms the downward light cast by the bulb, throwing a softer pool onto the surface below than a plain white interior would. The metal construction keeps the wall thickness consistent and the silhouette crisp. The shade is finished in a low-sheen matt white that resists fingerprints around the rim and pairs with brass, copper or polished chrome fixtures elsewhere in the room.

What bulb does it take?

The Funk Fat takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2700K complements the beaten gold interior and the bulb's filament is visible from directly below the shade.

Can the cable length be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm cable is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at the right drop for the ceiling height and the surface beneath. A typical drop above a kitchen island or dining table is 700-800mm from the surface to the bottom of the shade.

Can multiple Funk Fat pendants be hung together?

Yes. The compact 240mm diameter works well in a row of two or three pendants above a longer kitchen island or dining table. Each pendant is supplied with its own ceiling fixing, so a separate three-port bar or rose is needed if a single ceiling outlet is to feed multiple pendants.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Funk Fat carries no IP rating in the supplied specification and is intended for dry interior locations only. It is not suitable for installation in bathroom zones or covered outdoor areas.
