Description

The Funk Fat is a single pendant light with a matt black metal exterior and a hammered gold interior. The shade combines a tall tapered upper section with a wider rounded lower bowl, measuring 24cm in diameter and 30cm in height. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the shade (bulb sold separately), and the pendant suspends on a 150cm black fabric cable from a matching black ceiling rose.

The shape suits kitchens, dining rooms and hallways where a directed pool of light is wanted below the fitting. Hung singly over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, the deep shade focuses light downward onto the worktop while the gold inner lining warms the colour of the light as it reflects out. Hung in a row of two or three over a longer island or dining table, the narrow 24cm diameter keeps multiple pendants visually balanced without crowding the space above.

The metal shade is finished in a low-sheen matt black that reads as solid and graphic against pale walls and softens against darker backdrops. Inside, the gold lining is hammered rather than smooth, which breaks up reflections from the bulb into a softer, textured glow rather than a hard mirror finish. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the right drop for the ceiling height, with a typical hang of 700-800mm above a dining or island surface.

Is it suitable above a kitchen island or dining table?
