This A60 GLS LED bulb is the classic rounded household shape, fitting an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap. Light bulbs in this form are the everyday replacement for the old screw-in incandescent, and the same fitting is sold as a standard A19 medium-base bulb in the US. It draws just 7.3 W while replacing a 60 W old bulb, putting out 806 lumens of 2700K warm white. The wide 220 degree beam angle spreads light broadly rather than directing it, so the output fills a room evenly. It is dimmable, so the brightness can be dialled down for the right mood.

Warm white at 2700K suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas where a softer, relaxed tone is wanted, and the broad 220 degree spread means it works well in open shades, pendants and table lamps that send light out in all directions. The 806 lumen output covers a small to medium room comfortably as a single fitting, or contributes to a wider scheme with several lamps. Because the spread is omnidirectional rather than a tight beam, it lights the whole space rather than a focused spot, which is what makes it a sensible general-purpose choice. This is an IP20 bulb for dry indoor use only.

The bulb has a frosted white A60 body measuring 60 mm across and 110 mm long, weighing 26 g, on an E27 screw cap. Which fitting do I need for this bulb?

It has an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap, the larger screw-in size used on most standard pendants, table lamps and ceiling fittings. Screw it in clockwise until snug. If your fitting takes the smaller E14 (SES) cap, choose the candle version instead.

What wattage of old bulb does it replace?

It draws only 7.3 W but gives the same 806 lumens of light as a 60 W old incandescent bulb. You get the familiar brightness of a 60 W bulb while using a fraction of the energy.

Is this bulb dimmable?

Yes, it is fully dimmable on a compatible LED dimmer switch. For smooth, flicker-free dimming use a trailing-edge dimmer rated for LED loads.

Is the light warm or cool?

It is 2700K warm white, a soft, relaxed tone close to a traditional incandescent bulb. With a colour rendering of Ra 80 it shows colours naturally, making it well suited to living rooms and bedrooms.
