Description

The Cygnet is a 580mm-diameter floor lamp built around six white glass arms radiating from a polished chrome column, with strands of Asfour crystal pyramids and faceted crystal stones suspended between the arms. Each of the six G4 halogen bulbs (included) sits within the glass structure, casting light through the white resin-filled glass and reflecting off the crystal droplets to scatter prismatic light across the surrounding room.

Designed as a decorative centrepiece for living rooms, lounges and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the lamp stands 1.7m tall and weighs 15kg, giving it a substantial presence. The six arms extend horizontally from the central chrome column before curving upwards, creating a branching silhouette reminiscent of winter branches. The crystal strands hang at varying lengths, moving slightly when the lamp is repositioned and catching ambient light even when the lamp itself is switched off.

The white glass arms are hand-crafted and filled with opaque white resin, diffusing the halogen light and creating a soft glow at each arm tip. The Asfour crystal droplets are precision-cut Egyptian lead crystal, known for higher refractive index than standard glass crystal. The lamp is dimmable when paired with dimmable G4 halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The polished chrome finish on the column and base reflects surrounding colour, allowing the lamp to adapt to both cool-toned and warm-toned interiors.

The lamp requires mains voltage (220-240V) and draws 120W at full output across the six 20W G4 bulbs. The circular base is weighted to stabilise the tall structure and measures approximately 350mm in diameter. This lamp is NOT compatible with LED or CFL bulbs — halogen G4 capsules only.

Can LED bulbs be used instead of halogen?

No. The Cygnet is designed for halogen G4 capsule bulbs only and is not compatible with LED or CFL alternatives. This is due to the lamp's internal wiring and transformer configuration.

Is the lamp dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable halogen G4 bulbs (included bulbs are dimmable) and the lamp is connected to a circuit with a compatible halogen dimmer switch. Standard LED dimmers will not work with halogen loads.

What is Asfour crystal?

Asfour is Egyptian-manufactured lead crystal with a higher refractive index than standard glass crystal, giving sharper prismatic reflections. The Cygnet uses precision-cut Asfour pyramids and faceted stones suspended on metal wire strands between the glass arms.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch the lamp off and allow the bulbs to cool fully. Wipe individual crystal droplets with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystal or letting water run down the wire strands into the lamp body.
