Description

The Cooper is a white powder-coated outdoor wall light with an integrated 20W LED producing 1700lm at 3000K warm white through a 120° beam angle. The housing measures 170mm wide by 160mm tall with a 178mm wall projection, and carries an IP54 rating making it suitable for wall mounting in covered porches, under eaves, and on exterior walls sheltered from direct driving rain.

Designed for residential entrance lighting, patio walls, garage sides and pathways where ambient security lighting is needed without the intensity of a floodlight, the Cooper provides enough output to illuminate a 3-4m² area at ground level from a mounting height of 2-2.5m. The 120° beam spread gives a wide wash of light rather than a focused spot, reducing harsh shadows and pooling across doorways and steps. The non-dimmable LED runs on 200-240V mains and requires no separate driver or transformer.

The Cooper range includes variants with built-in PIR motion sensors and adjustable head designs — this fixed-head non-sensor model provides constant light when switched on at the mains. The white powder-coated aluminium finish resists UV degradation and coastal corrosion better than painted steel, and the 1.3kg weight gives the housing enough substance to resist wind movement once fixed to brick, render or timber cladding.

Does this model have a motion sensor?

No. This is the fixed-head, constant-light variant. The Cooper range includes separate models with built-in PIR motion sensors — those are listed as different SKUs. This model provides continuous light when the mains switch is on.

Can it be used in fully exposed locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, under eaves and on walls sheltered from direct driving rain. For fully exposed coastal or open-elevation positions, a higher IP65 or IP66 fitting would be more appropriate.

What mounting height works best?

Typical installation height is 2-2.5m above ground level, which gives a 3-4m² illuminated area at the base of the wall. Lower mounting reduces spread; higher mounting increases coverage but lowers ground-level intensity.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the housing and is not user-replaceable. The 3-year warranty covers LED failure, and the typical rated life of the LED module is 25,000-30,000 hours, equivalent to approximately 8-10 years of use at 8 hours per night.
