Description
This COB LED strip lays down a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible reel, with none of the spotting you get from spaced diodes. It draws up to 14W per metre and runs on 24V DC, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver to power it (this is not a mains-direct strip and should not be wired straight into a wall socket). The white tone is fully tuneable from a warm 2700K through to a crisp 6500K, letting the same run shift from cosy to bright task light. Among led strip lights this COB format gives the smoothest result, and in the US it is often sold as led tape or tape light.
The strip suits cove and ceiling perimeters, under-cabinet runs, shelving, stair edges and outline detailing where a clean, even band of light matters more than raw output. Because it is rated IP65 it copes with damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as kitchens and bathrooms, so it can carry a lit line from an indoor cove out under a soffit or pergola edge. It is supplied on a 5m reel and cuts to length only at the marked points, roughly every 2.6cm, so you can trim each section to fit the exact length of a worktop, alcove or step without leaving an awkward overhang.
The diodes sit on a flexible carrier coated to IP65, which is what allows the damp and sheltered outdoor use, and the strip weighs about 114g per reel so it mounts easily on its adhesive backing. Colour rendering is Ra 90, giving accurate, true-to-life tones across the tuneable white range, and rated life is around 30,000 hours. Remember it runs at 24V DC, so size the driver to the total length you install rather than the full reel. We also stock the matching 24V drivers and profiles in the range to complete the run.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, so it must be powered through a matching 24V LED driver rather than wired directly to the mains. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you fit, allowing 14W for every metre installed.
Can it be cut to length?
Yes. The strip cuts only at the marked cut points, which fall roughly every 2.6cm along the reel. Trim at those marks to fit a worktop, alcove or step, and the remaining section stays usable.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
Yes. It is rated IP65, which means it is coated against water and dust, so it is suitable for damp rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms and for sheltered outdoor positions like soffits and pergola edges. It is best kept clear of full submersion.
What colour temperatures does it give?
It is tuneable white, adjustable from a warm 2700K up to a cool 6500K, so the same run can shift from a relaxed ambient glow to brighter task light. Colour rendering is Ra 90 for accurate tones across that range.
