Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, giving a smooth run of light with no visible hotspots. It draws up to 14W per metre and runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching LED driver (sold separately rather than plugging into the mains). The colour is tuneable white across 2700K to 6500K, letting you set a warm glow or a crisp cool tone to suit the setting. In US terms this is a cut-to-length COB tape light, popular for under-cabinet and cove runs.
The strip suits dry indoor jobs such as under-cabinet kitchen lighting, shelf and display edges, cove detailing and outlining joinery. The dot-free output makes it well suited to spots where the light source is seen at close range, since there are no individual diodes to spot through the diffuser. It cuts to length at the marked points every 2.6cm, so a single reel can be trimmed to fit a worktop, alcove or step without waste. Rated IP00, it is for dry interior locations only and must be kept clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor position.
Build quality shows in the Ra90 colour rendering, which keeps skin tones, food and finishes looking true under the light. The free cable ends make wiring into a 12V DC driver straightforward at either end of the run. The strip carries a rated 30,000 hour lifespan and weighs 84g per reel, making it light enough to mount on adhesive backing or in an aluminium profile. This strip sits within our wider LED strip range alongside matching drivers and profiles.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately. It does not plug straight into a mains socket, and the driver must be rated for the total wattage of the length you install.
Where can the strip be cut?
The strip cuts to length only at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.6cm along the reel. This lets you trim a 5m reel to fit a worktop, shelf or alcove. Always cut on the marked line so the circuit stays intact.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00 for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position, where a coated IP65 strip would be needed instead.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off and let it cool, then wipe gently with a dry or lightly dampened cloth. Avoid soaking the strip or using solvents, as these can lift the adhesive backing or damage the diodes.
