Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, drawing 14W per metre for a bright, even output of 1540 lumens per metre. Unlike spaced SMD strips, the COB construction gives a smooth line of light with no visible dots along the run, finished in a crisp 4000K cool white at Ra 90 colour rendering. Sold by the term led strip lights in the UK, it is what US buyers know as led tape light or a light strip, supplied on a single reel ready to cut to length.
The strip suits under-cabinet runs, shelving, cove and ceiling-perimeter lighting, plus stair edges, display joinery and outline detailing where a clean, continuous line matters. With an IP65 rating it is coated against moisture, so it also works in sheltered outdoor positions, kitchens and utility areas as well as dry rooms indoors. Coverage is best judged as a linear effect rather than an area figure: the 1540 lumens per metre throws a strong, uniform wash, so position it to graze a surface or light a worktop directly. The reel can be cut to fit a given length and the offcut sections used elsewhere.
The strip cuts to length every 4.55 cm at the marked points only, and runs on a 24V DC supply, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver sized to the total wattage of the run, supplied separately. It does not connect direct to a mains socket. Built for a rated 50,000 hours, the flexible PCB bends around shallow curves and fixes with its adhesive backing to clean, dry surfaces. This strip sits within our wider COB strip range, with drivers and connectors available to complete the installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, so it needs a 24V LED driver sized to match the total wattage of your run, which is 14W for each metre used. The driver is sold separately, as it does not connect directly to a mains socket.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes. The strip can be cut to length every 4.55 cm, but only at the marked cut points along the reel. Cutting anywhere else will damage the circuit, so always trim on the printed marks.
Can it be used outdoors or in damp areas?
Yes. The IP65 rating means the strip is coated against moisture and is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions and damp indoor spaces such as kitchens and utility areas. For fully exposed or submerged locations a higher-rated fitting would be needed.
How do I keep the strip clean?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and harsh cleaners, which can mark the coating, and do not soak the cut ends or connection points.
