Description
This COB LED strip puts out a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible 5m reel, with none of the visible diode spots you get from older SMD tape. It draws 14W per metre and gives 1540 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps colours looking true under the run. Known in the US as LED tape light, this is the smooth, even-glow format favoured for under-cabinet, cove and outline work where the lit line itself is on show.
The strip suits kitchen under-cabinet lighting, shelving, display niches, coving and stair-edge accents, and the dense diode line means the beam reads as one clean band rather than a row of dots, so it works well close to a viewer or behind a slim diffuser. As a daylight tone at Ra 90 it is a strong fit for task areas and detailed work surfaces where accurate colour matters. It cuts to length at the marked points every 4.55cm, so a 5m reel can be trimmed neatly to fit a worktop, riser or panel run, then joined or fed as the layout needs.
Build is a flexible PCB carrying the COB diode line, rated IP00 and so intended for dry indoor positions only, kept out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location. It runs on 24V DC, which means it is not a mains-direct product: it needs a matching 24V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the length you install and supplied separately. Rated for 50,000 hours, it gives a long, low-maintenance service life. The wider COB LED Strip range covers further wattages and tones for matching jobs across a property.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, not mains voltage, so it must be powered through a matching 24V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you fit, at 14W per metre, and order it separately unless you have one already.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes, it cuts to length at the marked cut points, which fall every 4.55cm along the reel. Only cut on those marks so the circuit stays intact, then the 5m reel can be trimmed to suit a worktop, shelf or panel run.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location, and choose an IP65 coated strip for those settings instead.
What does the dot-free COB format look like compared with SMD tape?
COB places the diodes in a continuous line under a phosphor coating, so the lit edge reads as one smooth band rather than separate points of light. That makes it well suited to runs on show, such as under cabinets or in coving, where individual dots would be distracting.
