Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even line of light with none of the spotting you see on spaced-diode tape. It draws up to 14.4W per metre and puts out 2020 lumens per metre in a cool white 4000K tone, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering for true-looking surfaces and finishes. Known in the US as COB led tape light, it cuts to length at the marked point every 4.55cm so a run can be sized to the job, and the whole 5m reel can be shortened or split as needed.
This strip works well for under-cabinet lighting, cove and ceiling recesses, shelf edges, stair lines and outline runs where a clean unbroken glow matters more than a single bright source. Because it carries an IP65 rating it is coated against splashes and damp, so it suits sheltered outdoor spots such as soffits, porch edges, garden steps and covered patios as well as kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas indoors. Rather than lighting a whole room, think of it as a defined line of light tracing an edge or washing a surface, so plan the layout around the feature you want to pick out and the length of reel you have.
Built on a flexible carrier with an IP65 protective coating, the strip runs on 24V DC and needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately and must be sized to the total wattage of the run. It is not a mains-direct product and should not be connected straight to a wall socket. Rated for around 30,000 hours, the reel measures 5m long and 10mm wide and weighs 126g. Drivers, connectors and further lengths are available across the range to build and join longer installations.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 14.4W for every metre of strip connected.
Can it be cut to length?
Yes. The strip can be shortened at the marked cut points every 4.55cm along the reel. Cut only at those marks so the circuit stays intact, then connect the remaining length to the driver as normal.
Can it be used outdoors?
It carries an IP65 rating, so it is coated against splashes and damp and is suitable for sheltered outdoor locations such as soffits, porch edges and covered patios. It withstands wet conditions but is best kept clear of full submersion or standing water.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the surface gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the IP65 coating, and do not soak it. A light dust now and then keeps the output bright and even.
