Description
This COB LED strip light delivers a continuous, dot-free line of warm white light along a flexible 5 metre reel. Unlike a spaced SMD tape, the diodes sit edge to edge so there are no visible hotspots, giving an even line that reads as a solid glow rather than a row of points. It draws up to 14.4W per metre and puts out 1950 lumens per metre at 3000K warm white, with a high Ra90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Known in the US as COB led tape or light strip, it runs on 24V DC.
Being a low-voltage strip, it suits under-cabinet runs, shelf and plinth lighting, cove and ceiling perimeter detailing, and concealed accent work where the source itself should stay hidden. The dot-free output is well suited to grazing along a worktop edge or recessing into an aluminium profile, where individual SMD points would otherwise show through a diffuser. The reel cuts to length at the marked interval every 4.55cm, so it can be trimmed to fit a specific cabinet, alcove or kitchen island without waste. With an IP00 rating it is for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position.
The strip is supplied on a flexible adhesive-backed reel that bends around shallow curves and corners in one plane. As a 24V DC strip it is not a mains-direct fitting and needs a matching 24V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the run and ordered separately unless supplied as part of a kit. Rated for 30,000 hours and weighing 96g per reel, it carries the warm white 3000K tone throughout. This strip sits within a wider COB LED Strip range alongside other outputs and matching 24V drivers and aluminium profiles.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It is a 24V DC strip, not a mains-direct fitting, so it needs a separate 24V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing for 14.4W per metre, and it is ordered separately unless bought as a kit.
Can the strip be cut to length and where?
Yes, it can be shortened to fit. The reel cuts only at the marked cut points, which fall every 4.55cm along its length. Cut on the marked line so the segment stays complete, and use a connector or solder to rejoin sections if needed.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location, and choose a coated IP65 strip for those settings instead.
What makes a COB strip different from a standard SMD strip?
A COB strip uses a continuous line of diodes rather than spaced SMD chips, so there are no visible dots or hotspots and the output reads as one even line. That makes it well suited to under-cabinet and cove work, especially behind a diffuser where individual points would otherwise show. This reel gives 1950 lumens per metre at Ra90 colour rendering.
