Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5 metre reel, giving a smooth band of green light with none of the spotting you get from spaced diodes. It draws 10.5W per metre and puts out 900 lumens per metre, running from a 24V DC LED driver rather than straight off the mains. Known in the US as COB led tape or light strip, it cuts to length at the marked points every 5cm, so a run can be trimmed to fit the exact length of a shelf, recess or outline.
This strip suits outline and accent work rather than general room lighting, so its output is best judged by the effect it creates rather than a floor area. The continuous green line works well for cove detailing, under-cabinet edges, step and skirting runs, bar fronts, signage and garden or patio outlines. Because it is coated to IP65, it can be used in damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as indoors, and the flexible backing lets it follow curves and corners around a feature.
Construction is a flexible printed reel with the diodes embedded under a protective coating, rated IP65 for weatherproof and wet-location use. It runs on 24V DC and needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately and should be sized to the total length of strip in the run. Rated for around 30,000 hours, the strip is cut only at the marked 5cm intervals and connected with compatible joiners or solder tabs. This green version sits alongside other colour and white options in the COB LED Strip range, with drivers and accessories available to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. This is a 24V DC strip, so it must run from a matching 24V LED driver rather than directly from a mains wall socket. The driver is supplied separately and should be rated for the total length of strip in your run, allowing roughly 10.5W for every metre installed.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed to fit, but only at the marked cut points, which fall every 5cm along its length. Cutting at the marks keeps each section working correctly, and lengths can be rejoined with compatible connectors or solder tabs.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. The strip is coated to IP65, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations such as patio outlines, eaves and garden features. The driver itself should be housed in a suitably protected or indoor position.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the coated surface gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once the supply is switched off, and avoid harsh solvents that could mark the coating. The IP65 covering resists dust and moisture, so an occasional wipe to clear grime is usually all that is needed to keep the light output even.
