Description

The Butan is a 230mm outdoor LED wall light with a curved dark grey body that projects 105mm from the wall, casting 3000K warm white light in two opposing directions, upward and downward. Two integrated LEDs inside the curved housing deliver a combined 1000 lumens at 12W total power consumption, creating a bi-directional wash effect on the wall surface behind the fitting.

Designed for modern façades, garden walls and covered outdoor areas, the Butan carries an IP65 rating against dust ingress and water jets, making it suitable for exposed exterior locations. The curved profile softens the architectural geometry of contemporary buildings while providing functional illumination for pathways, entrances and building perimeters. The 71mm height keeps the fitting compact on the vertical axis, allowing it to sit below soffits or between windows without dominating the wall plane.

The dark grey powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and provides a neutral contrast against white render, natural stone, timber cladding and brick. The bi-directional light distribution means the Butan works as both accent lighting (highlighting wall textures) and as wayfinding illumination (marking doorways or steps). IP65 means the fitting is fully protected against dust ingress (the '6') and can withstand water jets from any direction (the '5'). This makes the Butan suitable for exposed exterior walls, though it is not submersible and should not be installed where it will sit in standing water.

Is the Butan dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs at full 1000lm output when powered. There is no dimming circuitry built into the fitting.

What direction does the light cast?

The curved body contains two integrated LEDs, one facing upward, one facing downward. Light washes the wall surface above and below the fitting, creating a bi-directional glow rather than projecting forward into the space.

How is it wired?

The Butan requires a 220-240V mains supply terminated at the back of the fitting. It should be wired by a qualified electrician and protected by an RCD. The fitting does not include a plug. It is hard-wired into the outdoor circuit.
