Brisbin 1 Light Pendant - Polished Nickel

The Brisbin is a 457mm pendant light built around three concentric metal shades that sit stacked above a central polished nickel cylinder housing a single E27 bulb fitting. The shades are finished in polished nickel on the exterior and painted white on the interior, so the bulb light grazes each white surface before reflecting downward, creating layered diffusion rather than a single harsh pool of light below.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls, the Brisbin sits 397mm below the ceiling canopy at its minimum drop and extends to 1617mm on the supplied cable, allowing it to be set at the correct height for a 700-900mm clearance above a worktop or dining surface. The 206mm fitting height and 457mm diameter give the pendant a visible presence without overwhelming rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The polished nickel canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable run is concealed within the drop.

The polished nickel finish on the outer surfaces reflects surrounding light and provides contrast against darker ceiling tones, while the white-painted interior of each shade keeps the light colour neutral and reduces the metallic cast that bare nickel might otherwise introduce. The geometric stacked form references mid-century Scandinavian lighting but the high-polish finish and clean symmetry place it equally in contemporary interiors. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose the light temperature and brightness that suits the room.

What bulb does it take?

The Brisbin takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen applications.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1617mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation. For a dining table or kitchen island the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Brisbin if the cable is shortened during fitting.

How is the light distributed?

The bulb sits inside the central polished nickel cylinder, with light grazing the white-painted interior of each stacked shade before reflecting downward. This creates layered diffusion rather than a single direct pool of light, reducing glare and spreading illumination more evenly beneath the fitting.

Can the polished nickel be cleaned?

Polished nickel can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but dry immediately to avoid water spots. Do not use abrasive cloths or chemical metal polishes, as these can dull the finish.
