The Bastia is a 4-light chandelier with four curved metal arms extending symmetrically from a central turned column, finished in satin gold. Each arm terminates in an upturned frosted glass globe shade housing a G9 bulb. The 49cm diameter and 42cm drop suit rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, providing distributed light without dominating smaller dining spaces or entrance halls.

Designed for dining rooms, breakfast rooms and hallways where a central ceiling light is needed without excessive visual weight, the Bastia spreads light evenly across four points to reduce harsh shadows. The frosted glass diffuses the bulb output, softening glare while maintaining enough clarity to define the chandelier's structure when lit. The satin gold finish has a low-lustre, brushed appearance rather than a high polish, which reduces reflections and pairs comfortably with both warm and cooler interior palettes.

Each arm is fixed at a gentle upward angle, directing the light output towards the ceiling as well as downward into the room. This creates a balanced ambient effect rather than a strongly directional task light. The central column features a turned profile with a spherical hub and smooth finial, giving the chandelier a structured, symmetrical form. The metal framework remains visually light despite the 3.1kg weight, and the frosted glass shades sit proportionally to the arm length without appearing top-heavy.

Yes. The Bastia ships with four G9 bulbs included. Each bulb is rated up to 40W. The combined 160W output is enough to light a 3-4m dining table or a 12-15m² room as the primary light source.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 42cm drop plus ceiling rose height typically requires a ceiling height of 2.4m or above to maintain adequate clearance over a dining table or hallway floor. The suspension chain or rod can often be shortened during installation if needed.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs installed. The G9 fittings accept both halogen and LED G9 bulbs. If you fit dimmable LED G9 bulbs and pair the chandelier with a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer, the light output can be controlled. Standard halogen G9 bulbs are dimmable on most household dimmers.

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

The frosted glass shades can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with warm water is acceptable. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the glass or metal components, as residue can settle in the junction between the glass and the metal arm.
