Description

This addressable LED strip puts each diode under individual control, so a compatible controller can run chasing, sequenced and dynamic effects along its length. It is a single-tone white strip, producing a crisp 6500K daylight output at 1150 lumens per metre, drawing 11W per metre. Sold widely as led tape or a digital led strip, it differs from a plain reel in that the light is driven pixel by pixel rather than as one continuous line, giving you animated white sequences instead of fixed brightness. The strip carries a high CRI of Ra 90, so the white it casts stays clean and true across whatever it lights.

Because the effect is the point here rather than flat room fill, think of it as accent and feature lighting: cove runs, shelf edges, display backing, gaming and media walls, stair lines and signage where movement or sequencing adds something. Coverage is best judged by how far you run the reel rather than by floor area, since the appeal is the moving line of light it draws along a surface. The 5 metre reel cuts cleanly every 10 cm, so you can trim it to a run, a shelf, a frame or a step and keep the marked cut points intact. It is an indoor product only, suited to dry interior settings such as living spaces, bedrooms, hallways and retail displays.

The strip runs on 24V DC, which means it is not a mains-direct fitting: it needs a matching 24V LED driver, sourced to suit the total wattage of the run you install, plus a compatible addressable controller to drive the per-pixel effects. It is rated IP00, so keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location. Rated for 30,000 hours, the flexible reel backs onto an adhesive strip for surface mounting along clean, dry surfaces. We hold a wider range of strip drivers and controllers to pair with it.

Frequently Asked

Does this strip need a driver?

Yes. It runs on 24V DC, so it cannot be plugged straight into a mains socket. You will need a 24V LED driver rated to cover the total wattage of your run at 11W per metre, plus a compatible addressable controller to drive the per-pixel effects. These are sold separately.

Can the strip be cut to length, and where?

Yes. The reel can be trimmed every 10 cm at the marked cut points. Cut only at those marks so the segment circuitry stays intact, then connect the cut end back to your driver and controller.

Can I use this strip outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP00, which is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens near water, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location.

Is this a colour-changing strip?

No. This is a single-tone white addressable strip at 6500K daylight. The addressable part means each pixel of white light can be controlled individually for chasing and sequenced effects, but it does not change colour.
