Description

The Knightsbridge MLR6045SD is a 60x45cm backlit LED bathroom mirror with a full perimeter backlight strip, integrated 12W demister pad, dual-voltage shaver socket and motion sensor control. The SMD LED strip runs around the entire rear edge of the mirror, casting 4000K cool white light onto the wall behind the mirror to create a halo effect that provides even ambient lighting without glare into the eyes.

Designed for bathroom installation above basins and vanity units, the mirror carries an IP44 rating for splash-zone safety and includes a shaver socket that switches independently from the LED backlight, allowing a shaver or electric toothbrush to be charged while the light remains off. The demister pad runs across the full rear surface of the mirror, preventing condensation from steam and maintaining a clear reflection in high-humidity conditions. The motion sensor mounted at the base of the frame turns the backlight on when it detects movement within approximately 3m, and off again after a preset delay.

The pressed steel frame backs a 5mm glass mirror and projects 65mm from the wall once mounted. The non-dimmable LED strip provides 1060lm output (2070lm from the LED source before optical losses) with a CRI >80, which renders skin tones accurately for grooming tasks. The shaver socket accepts both 115V and 230V plugs, providing compatibility with international shavers brought into the UK. Wall fixings are included and the mirror connects to mains via a concealed rear terminal.

Is the demister controlled separately from the light?

No. The demister pad runs whenever the LED backlight is switched on via the motion sensor. The shaver socket is the only feature that operates independently — it has its own switch and can be used with the light off.

What voltage does the shaver socket support?

The shaver socket is dual-voltage, accepting both 115V and 230V plugs. This allows international shavers or electric toothbrushes to be charged safely without needing a voltage converter.

Is the mirror suitable for installation in a shower enclosure?

No. The IP44 rating protects against splashes and moisture typical of bathroom basin areas, but it is not rated for direct spray or submersion. The mirror should be installed outside the shower enclosure, typically above a basin or vanity unit.

Can the motion sensor be disabled?

Not without modifying the wiring. The motion sensor is the primary control method for the LED backlight. If constant manual control is preferred, a qualified electrician can wire the mirror to an external wall switch during installation.
