Description

The Knightsbridge 5A unswitched round pin socket is designed for dedicated lighting circuits, table lamps and low-power appliances requiring a round 3-pin connection. The socket sits behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a grey insert, measuring 87.5mm square with a low 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.

Round pin sockets are typically used where lighting circuits need dedicated outlets separate from standard 13A ring mains — common in period properties, hotels and commercial lighting installations where table lamps or floor lamps run on independent 5A circuits. The unswitched design means the outlet is always live when the circuit is on, controlled by the main lighting switch or consumer unit.

The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall surface. The brushed chrome finish provides a directional grain that catches light differently depending on viewing angle, and the grey insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate. The socket is certified to BS 546 for round pin outlets and carries a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge.
