230V Shaver Socket With Dual USB-A & USB-C - Matt White Screwless

This Knightsbridge shaver socket combines a 230V 20VA shaver outlet with one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind a matt white screwless faceplate. The shaver outlet operates at 230V only and is certified to EN 61558 for safe bathroom use. The USB ports share a 5V DC 2.4A output for charging toothbrushes, shavers, mobile phones and tablets without needing separate plug adapters.

Designed for bathroom installation in zones 2 and 3, the socket carries an IP41 rating against water ingress from splashes and condensation. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. A built-in gasket seals the perimeter of the faceplate against moisture. The 230V shaver outlet is compatible with UK and European shavers and electric toothbrushes rated for single-voltage mains operation.

The matt white finish pairs cleanly with white ceramic tiles, white sanitary ware and neutral bathroom schemes. The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel and measures 147.5mm high by 87.5mm wide, with a projection of just 4.3mm from the wall. A minimum mounting box depth of 47mm is required for installation, and the socket must be earthed via the Class I earth terminal.

Can this be used in a bathroom shower area?

The IP41 rating makes this socket suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which are outside the immediate shower enclosure and bath area. It cannot be installed in zone 0 (inside a bath or shower tray) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower tray to a height of 2.25m). Consult BS 7671 wiring regulations or a qualified electrician if unsure which zone applies to your installation position.

What's the USB charging output?

The socket provides 5V DC at 2.4A shared between the USB-A and USB-C ports. If both ports are in use simultaneously, the 2.4A total is divided between them. This is sufficient for overnight charging of phones, electric toothbrushes and shavers, but slower than dedicated fast-charge wall adapters.

Does it work with dual-voltage shavers?

No. This is a single-voltage 230V shaver socket. It will not work with dual-voltage shavers designed to operate at both 115V and 230V. Check your shaver's rating plate before use.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum mounting box depth of 47mm is needed to accommodate the socket's recessed depth of 45mm plus clearance for wiring. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
