Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-gang switch component designed to fit the Knightsbridge grid system, where multiple modules are combined within a shared mounting frame to build custom switch and socket configurations. Rated at 20A double pole switching, the module isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety for high-draw circuits including immersion heaters, storage radiators and underfloor heating systems.

The module is supplied in smoked bronze finish with a satin metallic sheen, designed to pair with other Knightsbridge grid components in the same finish to create multi-gang plates. Installation requires a compatible Knightsbridge grid mounting frame and a 35mm minimum back box depth. The module clips into the front of the frame without tools once the frame is screwed to the back box, allowing modules to be changed or repositioned without disconnecting wiring.

The ABS body and steel internal components carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Dimensions of 56.3mm height, 24.8mm width and 18.7mm recessed depth match standard grid module sizing, allowing this switch to be combined with other grid accessories including sockets, dimmers, data ports and TV aerial outlets within the same faceplate.

What is the Knightsbridge grid system?

The grid system allows multiple switch and socket modules to be combined within a shared mounting frame, creating custom multi-gang faceplates. Modules clip into the frame from the front, so you can change or add modules without rewiring. Mounting frames are sold separately and are available in 1-6 gang configurations.

What does 20AX double pole mean?

20AX is the rating for switching loads up to 20A at 230V, suitable for high-draw circuits like immersion heaters and storage radiators. Double pole means both the live and neutral conductors are isolated when the switch is off, providing additional safety compared to single pole switching.
