Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket provides a single 13A outlet with double-pole switching behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a white insert. The double-pole switch isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances and reducing standby power consumption.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This removes all visible screws or fixings from the wall once installed, creating a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The brushed chrome finish provides a linear-grain metal surface that minimises fingerprints and glare while coordinating with chrome taps, handles and light fittings in kitchens, bathrooms and contemporary interiors. The white insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to the outlet aperture. Premium-grade steel construction and BS 1363:2 certification ensure the socket maintains safe operation over a 25-year rated lifespan. Twin earth terminals simplify installation where multiple sockets share the same earth connection in a back box.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
