Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls four separate lighting circuits from two locations behind a black nickel screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10AX (2,300W at 230V), handling higher loads than standard 6A lighting switches, making it suitable for circuits with multiple spotlights, fluorescent banks or high-wattage LED arrays.
Designed for hallways, open-plan living areas and commercial spaces where multiple lighting zones need coordinated control from opposite ends of a room, the 2-way configuration allows each gang to be switched independently from either location. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The 4.3mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish that sits close to the surface.
The black nickel finish provides a dark gunmetal tone that works in industrial, contemporary and high-contrast interiors. The premium-grade steel construction includes a built-in gasket between the sub-frame and cover plate, improving moisture resistance beyond the IP20 rating. The 16mm minimum back box depth makes this switch compatible with shallow back boxes in stud walls and dry-lining applications where deeper boxes are impractical.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four gangs to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is typically used in hallways or staircases where you want to turn the same light on or off from either end. Each gang operates independently, so you can have different circuits switched from different locations within the same faceplate.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. This shallow requirement makes the switch suitable for dry-lining, stud walls and retrofit installations where deeper metal back boxes cannot be accommodated.
What load can each gang handle?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which equates to 2,300W at 230V. This is higher than standard 6A lighting switches and handles circuits with multiple LED downlights, spotlights or fluorescent tubes without overloading.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The black nickel cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or sub-frame.
