The batten runs on 230V mains with a constant-current driver built into the body.

Designed as a direct replacement for traditional twin-tube T8 fluorescent battens in garages, workshops, utility rooms, storage areas and commercial ceiling runs, the fitting provides even, wide-angle illumination across workbenches, racking and circulation routes. The 120-degree beam angle spreads light broadly without creating hard shadows or hotspots under the fitting. Can this replace a traditional T8 fluorescent batten?

Yes. The fitting has the same 1525mm length and fixing centres as a standard 5ft twin-tube T8 fluorescent batten. Remove the old batten, connect the mains terminals to the new LED batten, and the installation is complete. No additional drivers or ballasts are required.

Is the batten dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with dimmer switches. The fitting should be controlled by standard on/off switching only.

What is the IP rating and where can it be used?

The batten carries an IP20 rating, limiting use to dry indoor locations such as garages, workshops, storage rooms and commercial ceiling runs. It is not suitable for outdoor use, bathrooms or other environments where moisture or dust ingress is a concern.
